Original information:
Joseph Pattrick was an infant when he emigrated to Canterbury with his family (see Thomas Pattrick). In 1900, Joseph was living at New Brighton.

Readers’ response:
Joseph Pattrick (note the two Ts) married Alice Laughton and they had nine children − David, Thomas Laughton, J. Laughton, Beecham, Elizabeth, Maria, Harriet, Sarah Ann and Annie. 1

    Joseph Laughton Pattrick 1850 – 1912. Joseph was born in Hundleby, Lincolnshire, England, he died in Christchurch and is buried at Linwood Cemetery. Joseph came to NZ with his parents, Joseph and Alice Pattrick on the “Cressy”.

    In 1873 he married Mary Dennis 1853 – 1920. Joseph and Mary had 9 children.

  2. Tessa Wensley Pattrick 1874 – 1944, married in 1897 to Hedley Vicars Free 1873 – 1952 (son of William Free and Maria Pattrick, Tessa and Hedley were first cousins).
  3. Maurice Alfred Pattrick 1876 – 1952, married in 1901 to Amelia Mary Barker 1878 – 1963 (daughter of George John Barker and Frances Ruth Merry).
  4. Cherrie Louisa Pattrick 1877 – 1946 .
  5. Evelyn Muriel Pattrick 1880 – 1911.
  6. Annie Pattrick 1882 – 1937 (Plaque to her at the Nurses Chapel at the Christchurch Hospital, Foundry Member of Plunket in NZ).
  7. Lawrence Beecham 1885 – 1887.
  8. Percival Ernest Pattrick 1887 – 1949, married in 1931 to Mabel Agnes Skelton 1899 – 1983. (Percival was the first genealogist in the family, completing a family tree for the 1950 family reunion, this has been the base for most of his descendants who are researching.)
  9. Fred Beecham Pattrick 1890 – 1891.
  10. Joyce Elizabeth Pattrick 1893 – ?. Married in 1919 to Francis Thomas Harris, ? – ?.
