Andrew Philpott, who was my husband s Gt grandfather doesn’t seem to be there but two of his brothers and at least one cousin are. Andrew was a child when the family made the journey

OBITUARY. Mr Andrew Philpott, one of the Canterbury Pilgrims who was present at the last annual gathering of that association. died at his residence, M’Fadden’s Road, St Albans, on Wednesday morning, 22nd September 1926. Mr Philpott arrived at Lyttelton by the Randolph in December, 1850. The family camped in Hagley Park, afterwards settling at St Albans on the property now known as English Park. By occupation Mr Philpott was a butcher, but he afterwards carried on successfully a dairying business. He was a devoted and consistent member of the Methodist Church throughout his life, and was S- trustee of Wesley Church, Edgeware Road. Mr Philpott, who was in his seventy-eighth year, leaves a widow, two sons and three daughters.

Matilda D’Orly Bayfeild (number 40) was my great-great grandmother. She, her husband Arthur Bayfeild and their first baby, also named Arthur) were on the Randolph. Arthur set up the first apothecary shop in Lyttelton. They had 6 more children before Athur died, aged just 40. Matilda kept the business running for a number of years, including through two bankruptcies (according to family oral history) She died in 1909, aged 92.
